Lightning Ball goes Boom

Okay, so it happened. We shot the Shadow Isles. More importantly, though, how do we move forward from here? Let's talk about it.™ (That should totally be our new trademark.) |

Well, I imagine that Ionia and the Freljord are more upset with the Shadow Isles than with Bilgewater at this point, so at least we don't have to worry about them as much. As for how we proceed with the Shadow Isles, my vote would be for "cautiously". As long as they don't attack us or do anything too evil (like, you know, massacring an island), I think we should treat them neutrally. |

I will now speak. I have been relatively removed from these because everyone's pretty much on the same page and no one has really questioned any decision. This, needless to say, is different. I voted yes. Why did I vote yes? Because an alliance with SI gains us nothing and the moral message means more. Their high stats compared to our stats the only one of any significance that they have is Military. They are weaker in research, espionage, commerce, and naval. Industry beats ours by 20. Military is higher, but not that much at this point besides Aatrox's benefits. They don't grant a strategic position, and what positioning they allow can be done on Nyroth. No one would like us associating with SI. Frankly there's better options which I will now go through: Active Factions Shadow Isles: See above. Freljord: Schizophrenic and unreliable. See why this happening in the first place. Ionia: Sad to say, but Ionia might actually be the most viable as a friend of the actives if we offer an olive branch since at this rate we aren't doing things much differently than Ionia would do (besides being competent at it). Not saying we should be super allies or anything, but we might be able to come to a peace with Ionia should we offer it. Nonactive Factions: Demacia: Noxus becomes insta-mad. Demacia is on the other side of the continent. Noxus is nearby us. Demacia is boring lawful. Demacia wants us to be Demacia. So no. Void: Lolno. Noxus: Have to be friendly until we have amassed enough power to say fuck you. Alliance mediocre at best. Bandle City: No. Just no. We don't want their failure. Also would make Zaun harder. Piltover: See Bandle City. And that leaves the two factions with which are the best choices for alliancing: Zaun: Zaun isn't Noxus. Zaun isn't inherently morally reprehensible. They also have a military, they have research, we already trade with them, they're still close. Tapping into their warp-gates would give us great opportunities. Addtionally, we are in position to be friends with them. We let them build their warp-gate in Nyroth. We're helping Viktor with Avalon(which is going to be done). We supported them against Piltover. They also don't have a navy which we do have. Also we can easily get to the other faction we can go for. Shurima: Now Azir's trying to rebuild his empire. Now what does he need to do that? Someone to help him build up, someone to give him money, someone to help him reclaim his land. We can do that. We can also offer him a naval presence which he has almost no chance of gaining it. If we help Shurima in its infancy, then Azir will be grateful to us and we'll have a powerful friend. So those are my thoughts on alliances. Edited by Naggarok, Dec 6 2014, 03:47 PM.

I think if we want to be allies with Ionia we should help them and Freljord wage war against the Shadow Isles |

If i can express my opinion and you're not affraid of animatronic killer robots, i like the alliance with Shurima. I think it's a good idea and we can win an ally. |

Having an alliance with Azir would be neat but I think he would need to give us some super secret sand magiks that are worth quite a bit to make it worth helping build Shurima back up. |

I got no problem with helping Shurima out, only problem is Zaun might not to pleased about a territory dis- Ah who am I kidding, we'll just give them some (Read: A butt-ton) money and they won't care about Shurima. That works pretty well in my oppinion. I think neutrality towards Ionia and Friel and SI might be a way to start. We don't have to LIKE them, but we can TOLERATE them. Well Shurima's a smaller nation then us, so we'd have noticeable influence. We can protect them as much as possible. Besides, I think Shurima's research stat is pretty good, so why not make friends with them? |

Maybe Diana can Ascend into the moon itself. I'd like to have the moon under our banner. (Take that, Bandle City.) |

Well, I mean, Gangplank does it all the time. He did it to his dad. Let's embrace our traitorous scalywag personality and maybe go hang out with Ionia? Or go it alone for a while. We have favor and points out the wazoo. If SI goes back to their Yorick/Karthus style roots, we might stand another chance with them. |

Ocean + Desert = Geographical Advantage. We would be unstoppable! Also, you never know, Zaun might have plans that involve a Shuriman alliance. |

We gotta remember people, while heavily influenced, we aren't owned by Zaun. Frankly I don't think they care what we do as long as we don't cut into their profits and don't associate with BC/Piltover too much. Am I right Zaunites? (Just wondering) |

No, Bilge isn't owned by Zaun. But there is significant influence, and Zaun has...plans for Bilge. Mostly just augmentation of power and, and my case, create a stronger empire. |

Zaun will fall under the might of Bilgewater eventually. Even though we built one of their warpgates and Viktor is investigating the Avalon factory doesn't mean we're associated with Zaun. I'd much rather ally with Kumungu than with Zaun. |

We've GOT to have GOLD
|
Ooh! Can we ally with Targon? It's like Noxus, but instead of a horrible citystate of evil evilness, we can pass it off as "foreign culture," show how awesome Leona is, and slip Diana anything we find from the solari palaces under the table so she can plot her revenge! Plus, Soldiers that make Noxus look like pansies!

...I'm not sure if the hypocrisy rang true with you there, but it's funny to me. Listen Rex, quite the fair amount of us are former-Zaunites. I can tell you, we want to at least ally with Bilge to create a commercial/industrial empire like no other. We have the military, 'they' (kind of 'us' I guess right now) have the navy that we don't. We have the products, they have the shipping and marketing. Truly, it would be a beautiful relationship. And come on, do you really want pirates and fish people against a mechanized army armed with chemical and techmaturgical horrors unlike any you've known? It's not even like we're evil; we've shown we don't want to conquer the known world, and although we've toyed around with the Void, we have no desire to destroy the entire world either (well, Rahh wants to nuke it, but that's another story). On another note, I wouldn't necessarily mind an alliance with Shurima. My issue is in seeing how Zaun and Shurima would ally, since Zaun has Renek and Xer'ath working with them, which Azir may not like. Maybe he would be willing to give up mining rights of the phyrikos, especially if Zaun aids him in the rebuilding of Shurima, but that might prove difficult. As for Targon, I'm really not sure if CCT would allow that...same for Kumungu, seeing as they're not nearly as represented in the League as pretty much any other faction. Although it may be possible to get Targonian troops, in the same way we got Marai researchers and troops. |

Well Wiz, I think there's a simple answer. Bilge gives Zaun a ton on money to give up the area around Azir's claim. Bilge is happy Azir is happy Zaun doesn't care, they got money |
