Alright, I just saw this board open up and I think it's a wonderful idea for those of us just getting here. Feel free to ask anything here - let's make this a knowledge dump for everyone.

-Where is the best place to get caught up on what's been going on in factions? Some of the links on the main site seem to either be broken -
http://leaguefactions.net/nyroth-update-1-time-to-troll/
http://leaguefactions.net/nyroth-update-2-not-your-hero/
or missing (anything past update 10 on the main site - we can access the raw data through the forums I see, thankfully)

tl;dr - there's a lot of lore to catch up on - What's the best place to look? Is there a tl;dr?

-What kind of coordination is there within each faction? Freljord seems to be pretty light on teamwork - is that me missing something, or are we just as disorganized irl as we are in-game?
(Thematically. Also, not that there's anything wrong with that.)
Answer will obviously be different for other factions.

-Last one's not a question, just a huge thank you to CupcakeTrap and all the other site Admins and Mods for creating this awesome fun world for us to join you in. Need any help?
Whoops, snuck a question in there. oh well.

The quickest way to get caught up on the basics of the Factions lore is at the storyline/factions saga page. It has quick summaries of some of the key events in each arc (storyline).

This is great for trying to just get a brief rundown of what happened, but it hardly gives the lore justice. I highly recommend reading all the different lore updates associated with each arc; they provide much more detail on what happened, and have some really awesome pieces to read. The only catch is that their is a lot to read, so do it when you have free time and spread it out so you don't get overloaded.

Ah ha! Fixed. I renumbered some updates a while ago.

As for the Nyroth updates past 10: those are still being cleaned up. I'll try to revise/link them ASAP.

The Storyline page really needs an update. I'd direct you to the main Lore index, or the Previous Storylines page.

We're trying to work on that; these forums are part of that effort. I think it's fair to say that the Freljord has been a bit behind on coordination so far, but is starting to pick up their game.

Thank you! We do, but (oddly enough) identifying where we need help and then getting people into those roles is itself time consuming, so it's only happening gradually.

Well, from my perspective, Bilgewater has always been known for having the most teamwork/communication, and I think several others can verify this.

As for the Shadow Isles, they've really been coming together. I know 501st Big Mike, as well as some of the more well-known figures of SI, are really bringing the concept of teamwork to this faction.

Regarding Freljord... I suppose you guys can be considered to be light on teamwork when compared to Bilge, but that's mainly because I don't know most of the summoners on Freljord. Then again, Freljord has consistently stayed right on Bilge's heels throughout the arc, and have been doing really well. Broke Bilge's Featured Match win streak :P

And then there's Ionia. Lol.

Don't be so quick to dismiss Ionia, they've really pulled it together for the Last Tournament and their Featured Matches. Not only was Sona a vital pick-up but their teamwork and coordination has improved significantly. Now that Ionia isn't four people competing to Carry they are getting scary.

I agree. Ionia's been getting better. A few of us decided to pull it together and start working on communication, and it's really paid off.

IRELIA: Hey, Karma. You know what I find works real good with necromancers? Killing them.
KARMA: When the enemy is Death itself, I fear that killing may be of little use.
IRELIA: So kill them harder.
KARMA: You really are a simple creature.

Freljord has also been trying to pull together ever since the first tournament. Our private forum has been a big source of organization, even though we haven't gotten to the level of communication we need to be.

Ionia would turn into a bunch of assassins, probably alienate Zed entirely, start a war with Demacia AND Noxus, and generally get wiped out.
'twould be interesting while it lasted though. -_-

Akali for Best Ninja Waifu Leader of the Kinkou. Of course the Kinkou would be more akin to a Terrorist Organization and eventually Ionia would get invaded to shut them down but It would be cool to see how much progress they'd make before that point. Also would like to see whether Akali or Zed would win outside of the Fields even though I ship Akali x Zed

From what I remember from filling for Ionia a while back it wasn't like you guy's didn't communicate, you just only said what had to be said pretty much. Like there was no needless chatter it was very calm for the most part. I haven't played on a Ionia team for a while though so maybe you guys have changed?

Bilge on the other hand can get very loud when it comes to communicating during match's.

It's kinda funny how we represent our factions like that. With Bilgewater being a rowdy bunch of crew mates, and Ionia being like a silent group of Ninjas on a mission only saying things of vital importance.

I do like Irelia as a character and don't like her being represented as a brute though.

I think we were talking mostly about communication outside of games, but yeah.

I have to agree with this, Cupcake us making Irelia sound more like Varus or Yi if Wukong never calmed him down. I'd love to see Irelia around though, hopefully not too angry though. I think Ionians showing mercy on the Peaceful Noxian Refugees has to have had some kind of positive effect on her... COME ON IONIA, LET IRELIA HAVE SOME SPOTLIGHT!

Hmm, this is worth a discussion on the lore forum.

Irelia came up a bit during Shon-Xan. She was initially presented as kind of a psycho anti-Noxian, but her attitudes mellowed as things went on. In Scarlet Shon-Xan, Agrofox had her talking with Xin Zhao as the fighting intensified, and she started to realize that it wasn't so simple as the Noxians being the bad guys.

I was exaggerating in that bit above for comic effect, but my pitch for Irelia's character is basically a tough, serious-minded military type. Not an Axe Maniac, but a hard-nosed soldier who's a bit of a contrast to Karma's more nuanced ways. Kind of an Ionian Commander Shepard. (Inasmuch as one can speak of the characterization of a POV character in an RPG.)
