A young acolyte bows as you approach. "Greetings, Summoner. I confess your face is yet unfamiliar to me. May I ask your name?"
He opens the register book and wets a quill. Will you sign?

Spell-Block?; Which one?

You could also try to block a Spell by petition for this tournament. That seems the most-favored petition option, after Research Help (and you get two).

So. Which spell are you gunning for? It would be blocked by all other factions.

You're also quite free to select another petition. Here's the list:

Request Loan. Factions may ask the League to loan them some cash, give them favorable treatment under trade treaties, or otherwise assist them economically. They gain about 30 points (3d20) of Commerce. (Difficulty: 100.)
Request Research Help. Factions may request assistance from the League's sages and scholars. They gain about 75 points (3d50) of Research. (Difficulty: 100.)
Enact Substitution of Field. Factions can demand that other Fields of Justice besides Summoner’s Rift get some love. If successful, they may select the map for the next two weekends of Featured Matches they participate in, for all participants. Any map that accommodates 5 Champions/Summoners may be selected. (Difficulty: 130)
Launch Formal Inquiry. Launch a formal inquiry into another faction's affairs, potentially exposing some damaging or embarrassing Secrets. (See below for how Secrets work.) For each Secret that the targeted faction has, the targeted faction rolls Espionage (d100 plus their Espionage stat) while the investigating faction rolls d100 and adds their Favor. For each Secret, if the investigating faction rolls higher than the targeted faction, that Secret is exposed. (Difficulty: 135.)
Disqualify Champion. Factions can try to twist the laws of the League to suit their ends, by pushing a specific Champion out of contention on a technicality. If successful, that Champion is banned from participation in the next two weekends of Featured Matches. (Difficulty: 140)
Impose Spell-block. Factions may insist that a particular Summoner spell be disallowed, for all other participants, for the next weekend of Featured Matches. (Difficulty: 160)
Support/Oppose. Alternatively, a faction may exchange one of its petition slots for an extra support/oppose opportunity.

Thoughts? I'm particularly curious what the tournament team members have to say.

How would it be blocked by all other factions?

Well, I mean, I imagine a lot of other factions would want to use their Support/Oppose slot to push back on that.

Targeting a faction's Champion is nice in that others are more likely to ignore you or support. Banning a spell provokes others. On the other hand, banning a spell also does more damage to the opposition.

Let's enact substitution of Field! If we get the tournament to take place on the Twisted Treeline, we have a real shot of winning it.

Per the Lore Event III page:

Substitution of Field: Will only affect the first day of the tournament, and only matches in which the petitioning faction is involved. Only the Howling Abyss and the Crystal Scar will be permitted choices.

(We don't want to kick people off the teams. Buuuut...eh. TT is spooky.)

After consideration and discussion, I'm willing to go with a modified Substitution of Field. Matches would be HGS on TT.

hm we could be good on TT Atrox can be a beast there if he gets enough money. But dont forget that its highly unlikely that any of our petitions go trough XD so might as well support those bans.

I'm much prefer the TT Field Substitution over Disqualifying Champions if I was sure we had a chance, but I think we can support Ionia and Frejlord in banning Nautilus and Nami, or possibly adding a third ban. If we could manage to get our matches on TT we might just have a chance in hell of winning his tournament or at least getting 3rd place.

Also what's with the two champions starting with N? Clearly they hate the letter N, how dare it have a Slash in between two lowercase L's or Uppercase I's!
