A young acolyte bows as you approach. "Greetings, Summoner. I confess your face is yet unfamiliar to me. May I ask your name?"
He opens the register book and wets a quill. Will you sign?

If we do have a poll, i hope it will at least last 24 hours. Yea, I'm glad to see that these numbers are wrong, I came back from vacation, and was frankly pissed at this, I thought the numbers were far different than what i'd been shown while voting, and I only voted to attack because the numbers shone in our favor and Bilge was pointed in the direction of stopping us. If given the option now, i'd want to blockade them. I'm still in favor of Aatrox/Morde/Hec, mostly because we don't have the research to support the Karthus/Yorick approach. I want in, if they won't let Karthus in, lets show them the big guns. And ask nicely. That usually works.

I reserve the right to be loudly opinionated on subjects I am completely ignorant of

Just want to know if the military strength we gained by choosing Aatrox as our leader were factored in when calculating SI's military strength. If you recall back when we got to choose between making Aatrox/Mordekaiser leader, Karthus leader, or banishing Aatrox, we were told we would receive additional military strength if we picked Aatrox as leader (on top of his other bonuses). We did end up picking him as leader, and I don't see anything on the unit lists about us getting the extra strength from it.

If you can find an unambiguous statement to that effect, maybe that could also be factored in, though we didn't really do anything like that for any other faction.

I remember it in the Lore Event III GDoc form to submit votes, but that is now closed and I can't access the form anymore. Although, you should still be able to access it (I am assuming you made the poll).
Also, in the actual post it does say that choosing Aatrox would "lock in the military dominance of the Isles" and for choosing Karthus that SI would have less power overall if choosing him over Aatrox.

The GDoc seems to only have the same language about locking in military dominance, rather than weakening it. I recall leaving that deliberately ambiguous, because we were throwing it together at the last minute and I didn't want to commit to specifics.

Here's what I wrote in the form:

Quote:

With the invocation of Aatrox, the Isles are effectively being led by the avatar of war and Mordekaiser. Summoning Aatrox alters your destiny as he brings you victory, and this essential reality cannot be easily discarded. Still, you may be able to exert some measure of influence here.

• ENEMIES! WE NEED ENEMIES! The default option. The Isles have incredible power: use it. Mordekaiser, Hecarim, and Aatrox will lead the legions of the dead forth to seize Nyroth for the Isles. Stop trying to play nice with other factions: they should obey out of fear, not love. This option would lock in the military dominance of the Isles.
• Karthus. Power could be shifted away from Mordekaiser and Hecarim, and toward Karthus. Aatrox would still lead the armies, and no one, not even Karthus, can control Aatrox. There would be more restraint, but less power overall.
• Banish Aatrox. This is an extreme option. The Isles could banish Aatrox and forsake his bloody ways. This would remove Aatrox from the roster, and the Isles would no longer have the enormous power he grants on the battlefield. Many bridges are already burned, and this wouldn't change that. This is almost certainly a Very Bad Idea, but you can argue for it if you want.

No commitment on particular details yet, but yes, the first option would provide more Military strength than the Karthus option (or, obviously, the "banish" option).

So I read that as making a relative statement, implying that switching horses would reduce power, but not that keeping Aatrox would increase power further. (e.g. "More restraint, but less power overall")

At this point, I'm reluctant to insert a new rule. I'd rather interpret that as "they chose to keep the Aatrox status quo, so no change".
