I'm sneaking away from friends/family again to get at least a quick post up on this topic. Bilgewater has been appointed Valoran's principal emissary to Nyroth, especially in matters of trade. It will also get to set the basic rules for how islands are handled. Before we get to voting, I encourage you all to discuss what you'd like to do with this power. For example, how should the islands be governed? Should they be unified with the central mainland leadership? Should Valoran administer them as semi-independent territories? Should it be up to each island? (If you can get pixies to vote.) Consider this a wide-open prompt. I'll use your responses to put the lore event together. |

The mainland one is a no-no since that would give Ionia some claim that they have the right to govern the islands. I like leaving it up to each island, but the faction that controls can still say "no you cannot push the red button." |

I like the idea of Making the islands independent vassal states of their governing faction, able to follow their own customs and traditions and run their own system of government (if they so desire) but subject to the greater laws and allegiances (where applicable) of their parent nation. |

Each island has crafted its own identity. Let them keep it. Factions which have control over certain islands can maintain some dominion over them, but the islands should be sub-states within the factions. Mostly independent, but still connected to their associated faction. |

Obviously we need to start a dinosaur zoo in the mainland by Stormhaven. Admission will be 200 gold coins or other currency of equal value. We're going to make tons of money off this and if someone attacks Stormhaven we just release all the dinosaurs on them so this is flawless. |

We've GOT to have GOLD
|
First we offer to keep the two civilized islands as vassal states and when Aeaea says no we say "fine, you're independent but we have gold and shiny stuff to trade for your not-at-all-evil stuff." Then we say to the League that we'll have all of the islands as vassal states anyway and just not tell Desmeya by sending people who don't know about that whole arrangement. And say to all the islands that they can self-govern and can choose who to follow--ours just chose us cause why not--and watch Freljord get booted out in favor of Bandle City. Then we go to Avalon with Demacian finery and stuff and say, "Hey, mind if we bring in people to help get some gold and stuff from your island and we'll give you a portion and hey--if you want a few more dresses you could give us some gold and we can buy them. And then overcharge because shipping fees amirite. And bring over Zaunite and Piltover toys and try to get Automata Factory up and running and place a few drunken pirates at the doors saying that Twisted Fate said something mystical and charming over them that was vaguely card-related so they have AAAAALLLLL the luck and can 1v100 even evil automata if they go crazy. Then we go to Desmeya and ask if she wants some Demacian clothing for tropical fruits and food and automata, and bring her some alongside our good "tailor friend" Luxanne Crownguard--who Nami definitely did not mermaid-tears-ed along with a sob story about an evil witch--so miss Crowngard could start measuring Desmeya up with her "measuring wand" and find the dimensions of her Then we loot every other island for what it's worth and maybe send some to mainland if it's non-poisonous in exchange for some of that sweet gold. And also set up customs on all our islands and charge visa and immigrant fees and say it's in the name of safety. Edited by Jpdaniel, Jan 2 2015, 08:02 AM.

Looks like most people agree for semi-independant rule, and I agree. Most of the islands we have already assumed an established identity over the years. To quote Orderly:
I suppose the Isles overrules this case for Neritum, considering they killed all the inhabitants I think, though Daeyux still does have liches I believe. |

I think the best thing to do is leave it up to the islands if they want to join factions or not, I mean think about it. All of our islands, with the exception of maybe Kibu, like us a lot SI killed everyone on their islands. Yordles might, but I think they don't particularly care |

That escalated quickly. First, I was thinking of that scene in DS9 where Sisko has Garak come in to take his measurements as a ruse to allow him to overhear the conversation. Then, uh, I was not thinking that. |

My personal idea was fill VIktor and Desmeya on a date. Then turn into a film. WE'LL MAKE MILLIONS OF WHATEVER CURRENCY VALORAN HAS. |

She's an enchantress who created an island of robotic BFFs and is probably the only person on Nyroth who actually knows WTF is going on. He's a crazy robot-man who once saved the planet together with Tony Stark and a blue hamster-cat. Coming this summer to a hexgraphic sensefilm projectorium near you. |

I myself was personally confused as to why he would do this. Why would he go behind our wonderful Desmeya's back in this way? She is completely trustworthy, and I see nothing wrong with her way of doing things, may she be forever exalted. |

I agree with Wiz, we should put Desmaya in charge of our islands, she's so great. I love Desmaya |

First of all, I am genuinely hurt that you would conspire against such a great person ![]() Second, she is the NPC ally we got from the arc, and CCT has promised she will NOT move against us (or at least, not in major ways). There is literally no point in taking the time to criticize her for her methods, and I have no real problem with what she's done. |
