As discussed in this thread, we'll be giving out some small rewards just to show we was present on the forums during the Nyroth arc. The question is, what symbol should we use? The last vote was somewhat decisive, but it was about a month ago, and was a bit more cluttered and using some outdated versions. So, just to be safe, let's do this one last time, with feeling. Badges? ![]() or Medals?

While we could do that, not many seemed to support that type of option last time around. There is good news on that front though. I will include an option to disable the display of awards on your end in Code Settings, if that's what you would like. Or if any of you want to opt out of getting it entirely, that's fine too. Just let me know. But it's cool if nobody actually wants these rewards. While I have already put a good amount of work into making them, I do have mild concerns that they'll promote elitism, or the perception that some users are better than others, because they've participated in more arcs. But that may not matter since many users already put their previous arcs in their signatures, regardless. It's really all up to you guys. If the majority is in support of it, then it'll be implemented as an optional feature that you can turn off if it suits your fancy. If most of you don't want it, then the subject can be dropped entirely. Edit: The images representing the award can also be changed later on, if that is the problem. I am in full support of improving what we have, but it's worth noting that moving on doesn't prohibit us from changing the image. |

I've always liked medal ribbons better than either of those Even better than a medal or badge are crests Edited by Rextreff, Jan 19 2015, 04:59 PM.

An option to disable sounds like a great idea - I love the medals, personally, and absolutely want them, but the option of turning them off in the case of people who dont want them sounds like an excellent idea. As for elitism... i can see the concern, but i think the community can adapt to and respect newer recruits without being elitist or condescending. I certainly hope so anyway. And most of the people who have been here a while seem to be pretty chill about stuff like that anyway. |

Now that the awards are received it seems the image is too small which definitely kills it. imo a crest or ribbon would be better |

It would be simple to increase it back to normal size, it's just that shortly after I finished it I realized that having them at full size looked kind of clunky. Point being, it is in no way a forced limitation. We can change the images still, but I'm out of ideas for how a crest or ribbon would look. |
