Comparing Darius to Yorick is misguided. Yorick has sustain - Darius does not. And the only time a Darius can be oppressive in lane is if he's actually good. Otherwise, there are some tactics you can employ.

First of all, it's easy to bait Darius's Q. As soon as he uses it, he's fair game to be harassed for the next 5 or so seconds. Even if you can't harass him during this time, eventually he'll go oom.

When he harasses with Q, he pushes the lane. This can put him at great risk if you play correctly. Freeze the lane by your turret. By which I mean, take his wave and bring it just outside of your turret range until your minions get there. That way it won't push back towards him. Chug some potions so you're full health and wait for your jungler. As long as you're full health and you both go in at once, you'll kill him for sure.

Last but not least, start flask and health pots. You'll survive the lane no matter what that way, assuming you don't try to all in him. If you build a bit of health/a sunfire, he won't be able to dunk you without an extended trade, which you can win with jungler support. Randuin's active can help peel him off of you. Save your disengage for after his pull.

I mean, is it truly that unhealthy for the game to have people like Riven, Pantheon, Darius, Yorick and other early game bullies? I think out of sheer champion diversity we ought to keep that niche alive and find a way to make it healthy and balanced within the rest of the game.
Thank you for saying this. I agree, there is a place for early game bullies, as long as it is possible for them to be played against smartly.

Seriously, I am so sick of people complaining about champs that ARE NOT op and that have tactics to play against them.

Sorry I think I've been on Boards too much. If I see one more complaint thread about Lee Sin.......>.<

Hold up, Riven's escape potential needs a kick in the teeth imo. I can accept her being able to chase well, but her being able to GTFO whenever she wants is cheesey as hell and I don't like it.

If you win an engage with a lane bully or catch them in a bad position, they shouldn't be able to escape so easy.

Like, maybe if Valor had a bit of a longer CD and her q only moved her forward if it's cast towards an enemy champion. Maybe some damage buffs in compensation or something. I'd like that.

Personally the only thing that bugs me about Riven is her shield. I don't mind her escapes, damage and CC, but it feels silly that she has an AD-scaling shield on a short cooldown.

I reserve the right to be loudly opinionated on subjects I am completely ignorant of

Riven has pretty much everything: multiple gap closers that double as good chase and escaping tools, lots of damage all scaling off ad, a shield scaling off of ad, an aoe ranged execute, low cds, and no costs for her abilities of any kind. I'm not saying she needs to be completely reworked, but take away at least one of those things.

She can also jump over walls, and just recently now I'm pretty sure they made her Q not interrupt her auto attacks so it automatically weaves for you.

That was a bug that they corrected, but any Riven player worth their salt cancels animations anyway so it would only lower the skill cap floor, rather than allow her to do anything new.

Looks like I misinterpreted the "Where you play the champion" part.

This clears it up: (Taken from Surrender At 20)

Mirross continued:
"The main thing here is that your grades are comparing you to other people playing the same champion in that position.
So when you play Vel'koz support, you're being graded against other Vel'koz supports. Likewise bruisers. So the grades should make sense for the way you're choosing to play."

Ahh.

So assuming I play Akali jungle and don't horrendously feed, I'll get an S Grade?

Should be fun.

Played Twitch top on PBE and destroyed a Fiora, ending the game 11/2. Got an S rank. Most everyone else in the game got B or S-. Seems like you have to do pretty well to get an S.
