I will be inserting a top lane Janna guide soon ![]() When to play Top Lane Janna: Top Lane Janna is, as I found out, a hard counterpick. She is meant to win lane, and completely deny the enemy top laner with a superior 1v1 ability. As a result, your team must be willing to go for this focus on more utility and less tanky tank tank. In addition, she destroys certain top laners (when played correctly, of course) and gets destroyed by others. In addition, you need to know how to kite. Yes, kite. And kite well. Good Lane Matchups: •Renekton. My oh my, how this is hilarious. Basically, if Shurima ever pick Renek, Janna will win if you know how to trade well. Auto him to death, and shield away any all-ins he may try to do. It is essential that you: •Maintain lane brush control •Trade effectively •Deny cs •Push, and draw the enemy jungler's attention, to take tower •Splitpush hard (optional) I don't recommend teleport, maybe ignite or exhaust. W max, or E, depending on how comfortable you feel. •Nasus You will wreck his laning phase easily, he is literally no threat to you. Bad Lane Matchups •Vlad Ranged+Sustain means you can't pressure him hard enough early game. Which sucks, cause he outscales you, in terms of damage. Items: I prefer a few Dolans Rings, and then rush Spooky Ghosts for the movespeed. And then. . . um . . . idk. Take some AP or utility item, Janna works well with those. Runes/Masteries: All Offensive stuff, AP and the like. 21-0-9 to get ms from the utility tree. Your job is to bully out the opposing laner. Edited by Kwon Ri Sae, May 24 2015, 02:59 PM.

AP Janna is hilariously viable, since your shield ends up giving an entire big-ticket item worth of AD to your Cait/Ez/Vi. Your W is also a nuke, your fully-charged Q destroys minion waves, and you have insane movespeed. |

How to Play Support Janna Quite honestly, there are two ways to play support Janna; E max and W max (and don't you dare try to argue for a Q max, no way you consistently land full charge tornadoes.) •E max The primary way to play Janna, shield ally when poke comes his way, or s/he wants to trade. Shield self so you can trade with the enemy. Easy, right? •W max This one is rather unique, as your damage comes from W now. This is effective against bot lanes who choose armor runes over health, while also increasing your speed. Basically, run up, throw W, then run back to trade. Shield when necessary. Other than that, it's not hard to lane with Janna, nor is it hard to midgame with her either. Ult whenever you feel like it, reverse tornado about half the time, and buy your support items, and you'll be ok. And stop rushing Mejai's when we need a locket/crucible. |

Okay, some Janna tips: * Don't use your tornado unless you're disengaging. It costs a ton of mana and everyone will dodge it. * Use your shield to prevent poke and enhance your ADC's AD in important moments (when they're taking tower, ulting). * Support items first. Talisman, Mobi boots, Sightstone, Upgraded Trinket. Build situationally afterwards. If they have a lot of magic damage, get Locket, if they have a lot of AD, get FH. Once they get Morg you can build Mikael's for her Q. * You can't ult away Sion when he's ulting. You can't tornado him either. That's what Talisman and Mobi boots are for. Just get out of the way. * Don't get near Darius. Keep Darius away from the team. * Save your ult for when the assassin goes in. * You should be spending most of your time warding when you're not teamfighting. Buy Sightstone first, on your first back, and replace your warding trinket for red trinket. Buy pinks as often as you can. You should be spending a huge amount of gold on vision and vision denial. |

I just watched the game we lost vs. Shurima, and I heard Porkchop and Mike be like "Oh Janna just got caught." "Yeah, Shurima just won the game. Now that their disengage's dead, they can just win any teamfight." And that's when I realised that Janna's actually extremely important vs. both Shurima and Noxus. Clearly I need to be more aware of my positioning next time I play her. Or better yet, we should just have our higher-level players as our Jannas. |

Yes, it's very important that you stay alive until the end of the fight. With Vi being our currently jungler/initiation, and Jayce being very low in cc potential, we have absolutely no peel whatsoever in our comp. This is where Janna steps in. She can disrupt a lot of initiation with a well timed/placed tornado, and her Monsoon is the ultimate "Fuck you, go away!" She has got to STAY ALIVE until our carry has killed what is focusing them. Then she can die, knowing that they laid their life for the carry to stay alive and still do damage. This should actually be the mindset of all supports tho. |

Yeah, I typically tend to go too much on the martyr direction. In the first game, I deliberately ulted early and sacrificed myself so that Cait would live, because I saw Azir coming in to one-shot Cait. And then Mike and Porkchop were like "Janna should've saved her ult for a little later." Which, you know, in retrospect, it probably would've worked out better? But my first concern was like "Caitlyn must make it to the tower alive." That's also how I got caught at the end of the third game, I was going through the jungle, looking at the teamfight brewing in botlane, and I see Amumu near me and at no point I ever considered he might go for me. I just assumed he was saving all his cooldowns for the carries, since they're more valuable than the support. It was only when I heard the comments that I was like "...oh." EDIT: My point here is that we should probably talk about these things a lot in the forums and on the client, because it's a shame I only realised this after the fact. We might gone 3-0 and 2-1, perhaps. Edited by ShadowKnight1224, May 31 2015, 06:47 PM.

The thing with Janna is, you're super duper fast, so it is easier to escape with her. |

I have achieved Janna Nirvana. Spoiler: click to toggle In the second game, I was 8 wards away from single-handedly out-warding the entire enemy team put together. Edited by ShadowKnight1224, Jun 1 2015, 11:29 PM.

But he has preemptive, somewhat low cd disengage in his cannon e :s it's like a mini sivir ult for disengage if you can anticipate enemy play. |
