Well here it is.

To say I'm unimpressed would be an understatement. In any case, there's the one choice we have which is basically violence/no violence and the giant list of stuff that Noxus/Piltover can pick between.

Discuss I suppose.

I think the only things that need discussion are in the Diplomacy threads between factions. The only real question is whether people are going Reinforcements, Alliance or Vengeance against Shurima. We may not be Shadow Isles but Diana, Vel'koz, and Rek'sai make for good incentives to work against us. Diana is a strong jungler with Runeglaive (though a bit less powerful with the PBE nerf) if Vel'koz can land his skillshots even Azir may have a hard time keeping up and Rek'sai is a very strong jungler, able to gank efficiently as early as level 3.

Reinforcements isn't that amazing for Noxus (though for those few skilled Riven players it may be worth the cost and I hope you never get her.) and Piltover being able to grab both Blitzcrank and Zac would be very useful in allowing them to change from pure poke/disengage to pick or hard engage compositions, exactly the kind of flexibility they lack on the Rift. And then there's Alliance which is arguably pretty good but I have no idea who wants to ally with who so I can't properly comment on it.

In any case, it's mostly stuff that should be private anyway.

EDIT: I can't believe I didn't realize this was Shurima's Private Forum... Eh, can't be bothered to delete that stuff. Anyway, BOW TO THE EMPEROR, INFERIOR CONSTRUCTS PEASANTS!

The Dawn has Arrived.

We need commerce and diplomacy much more than we need military force. We're in the league - that means we can take big issues to the fields rather than fight it out. Paying those mercenaries that have gotten us this far, however... Diplomacy and insight are also good things that we'll need, especially if our biggest resources are artifacts unearthed from ancient times.
As much as in game I prefer Renekton over Nasus, we need to play our cards and consolidate power well, THEN once we're self-sufficient we begin to subjugate the other nations.

SUBTLETY, KURO. DO YOU SPEAK IT?

Yeah, I agree with Rin, I've read Game of Thrones, I know what happens when you don't pay your mercenaries

I've been saying that all along but yeah. Bad things happen when you fail to pay what you owe. Second option seems like the best idea. In addition, we don't want to stretch ourselves thin. That led to the destruction of many an empire. Lastly, if we can get our research high enough, I have a little plan that may help our current landlocked nation.

Look, it starts out fine, with sand boats and sand pirates and sand parrots but where does it end? Then we get sand zeppelins, then sand airplanes! Then we have to have sand bombers and sand computers! And sand gets into your pants and makes you do the itchy dance!

Well, until we do actually move from silicon-based chipsets to carbon nanotube-based chipsets... I'd say sand computers are about right, yes.

AND IT'S CALLED THE 'SHURIMA SHUFFLE!'

Has voting actually started? I think I remember CCT being on Alaskan time, but even then it should be pretty far into the afternoon by now.

So... "fun" fact, I didn't think to check back and see whether an existing announcement had been edited without notice, so I assumed the poll I was voting for was simply "which stats do you want?" rather than including any special bonuses.

If I had known, I probably would have valued Insight less (no guarantee we'll be doing much war against the Void soon) and maybe Military a little less (there are better things to have than just hurting our enemies more). Production significantly more (casualties bad, Brackern good) and Espionage a little more (we're planning to annex Urtistan at some point, it'd be nice if there was already something useful there when we get around to it. Also, crit fail sucks).

Not asking for a revote or anything, just offering my opinion.

Havent voted yet, so still pondering. Is there a time limit on how long I may ponder? (I imagine there must be.) What, pray tell, is said time limit?

I'm leaning towards the Nasus/Sivir/Xerath options (diplomacy, commerce, insight, if you're so inclined) although for Summoner RP reasons my character is almost required to vote Zilean/Espionage

He owes Zilean. A lot. See, Kuro pointed out last arc that a Nyrothian summoner is weird, because that magic takes a long time to learn. However, this was mentioned after i created the character, and I like the concept too much to let it go. So the League and Zilean are basically putting me in a Hyperbolic time chamber so that I can be useful before Arc 18. I'm thinking something along the lines of diplomacy reasons for a handwave. I will eventually write out this wonderful idea that's stuck in my head, just like so many others... eventually.

In Factions, he misses his kind. In Riot canon, he misses missing his kind, but does astound visitors with his "terrifying intelligence and precision", whatever that means.

Those special rules are really meant to be rather token, arc-specific mini-buffs. If any of them end up super-strong, because of how the World Systems mechanics get written and rewritten, we'll probably change them. Special rules are neat, but they're hard to balance, and I think we mostly need to save them for later. Still, it's really fun and flavorful when they come into play, even in a small way, so I wrote them in. I really wouldn't sweat it.

I'll close the poll tomorrow night. Shurima has a little more time than Noxus/Piltover, because it doesn't need to select Champions in time for the Featureds.

As for being a Nyrothian Summoner: it is a little weird, but welcome to League of Legends. Yes, usually someone would need a pretty advanced magical education to qualify to enter the Institute. But maybe your Summoner is like Ezreal, and has a bizarre natural knack for magic. Maybe they learned some impressive stuff from Nyroth: while Nyroth was something of a "ruined" civilization, it was once extremely advanced, and I don't think it's at all impossible that a Nyrothian mage could have the qualifications to join the League. (I mean. Desmeya, anyone?)

If I had a character, and I don't right now, he'd always vote for balance. And if someone asked him why balance was so important, he'd light them on fire and then throw water on them.

But in the meantime, I think getting some coin is our best strategy. We got mercs to pay, treaties to negotiate, and maintenance for our new buildings.

Arc-specific mini-buff that only works against a faction that's not participating? So we lose the bonus after this arc is over?

You're much too kind, Naggarok. I know you're just trying to be nice, but if you keep complimenting my work in such excessively charitable ways, it might sap my motivation to improve. I realize it doesn't come easily for you, but try being a little bit critical every now and then.
