So, with all the RP lore starting to get a somewhat stable foothold I thought it would be a good idea to actually get significant artifacts listed somewhere for ease of access and possible lore fuel. If you know of any significant artifacts in LoL Lore, Factions and Official, then feel free to post about it here. If your Summoner happens to have any interesting pieces in their possession or in some way related to them, post the artifacts here as well. Do remember that the IoW would not let anyone be walking around with Doomsday devices or the like so try and keep it balanced :P

Full Stop.
All the higher tier items are artifacts of power held by the league. A couple of them even have lore on lolwiki. Here's Warmog's Armor for example.

INSTITUTE OF WAR
VOLATILE ARTIFACT RESEARCH AND CONTAINMENT BUREAU

Artifact 55412-667-4B0082

TOP SECRET, HIGHLY CONFIDENTIAL

Artifact Name: 55412-667-4B0082 "Ix Gog ahl Khan'Rok" (lit. The Stone of the Word-Sender)
Physical Description: Small, tetrahedral stone. Approx. ten grams. Completely black. Smooth around edges. On each of its four faces are Icathian glyphs, currently unknown
Origin: Icathian, possibly Voidborne. Spoken heavily of in various Icathian manuscripts. Age unknown. Exact place of creation unknown.
Known Magical Aspects: As spoken of in Icathian scripts, it supposedly is bound to one particularly voidborne referred to as Khan'Rok. To quote a direct translation, "[the stone] houses the Word-Sender, the one who transfers the word of the Void to the mortal-realm [Runeterra]. Who[ever] controls the stone controls the Word-Sender, and the Word-Sender controls the bearer of the stone." Due to the artifact having strong connections to a Void creature with significant power, this object is of great concern. It is documented that those who bear the stone have:

  • A huge corrupted, infected eye. (referred to in text as "Ik'Koz", or "Blessed Sight")
  • Drastic changes in personality and social interaction
  • Sometimes, a seemingly random and spontaneous capability to practice Void magic

Current Location: Unknown
Status Level: Dangerous

Had that copied-and-pasted from somewhere in my GDocs. Other than that, I don't have much else :)

Singing Stone

Description: An iridescent uncut gemstone weighing approximately 22.7 karats. Dimensions measure 17.2mm x 20.1 mm x 13.4 mm approximately. Coloration changes base on angle of viewing and intensity of light. Magic seems to have no ability to affect the look of the stone. Whenever magic is used directly on the stone, it absorbs the energy and begins to vibrate releasing harmonic frequencies that vary based on the intensity of magic used, the class of magic used, and the orientation of the stone in relation to cardinal direction, and the distance to the nearest Leyline. This stone is not recorded in any manuscripts of the cultures of the area where the stone was found.

Notable Properties: The stone's ability to absorb magic seems to be contained to the stone itself as it provides no protection to those carrying the stone. Any attempts to cut the stone to create magical artifacts for use on the fields of justice have been met with futility. The stone seems to be stronger than any known material, and it's ability to absorb magic means that it cannot be magically cut. it's size and shape mean that uncut it cannot be carried with ease or used.

Donor: Likon Celimdha

Location found: Great Barrier Mountain Range - Mt. Canticum.

On loan to Synar Celimdha for further research.

The King of Alliteration

From the journal of Yurstin Yudling, student summoner:

"Today we had a strange incident at the Snowdown festival. Several summoners and a Champion were drugged by a peculiar mixture...

It was determined to contain 58% Gin, 24% Thaumakola (A Zaunite carbonated and caffeinated beverage), 9% Liquified Peppermint, 5% Pyrikhos, 2% Plague Scorpion Venom, and 2% various other toxins and chemicals that our scientists had trouble distinguishing.

This had... varying affects on the various partakers.

Some appeared heavily intoxicated, some appeared to be drugged, some lost the ability to speak with a diverse vocabulary. All were mentally effected, and the affect was strong enough that exposure via mindlink had repercussions as well.

The drink was apparently distributed by Viegar, but I would not be surprised if the drink resurfaced in the future."
Artifact Name: Toxic Thaumagin
Physical Description: Swirled Red and White drink, spells like peppermint
Origin: Unknown, Found at Snowdown Festival
Current Location: At Large
Status Level: Unknown

So I will just throw out Sasha's artifacts since...I'm bored.

In order of recorded appearance at the Institute of War:

Tome of Dierdrik: Minor magical tome bound in brown leather. Fairly thick and contains several high-grade magical theories but is otherwise unassuming or notable. Claimed by Sasha Kentanus to be the cause of her fratricide. Currently entrusted to Lord Perian von Pumpernickle of Demacia for safekeeping and as evidence.

Robes of Solace: Magically saturated robes belonging to the Summoner, Sasha Kentanus. Cloth is of an undetermined material that has been later identified as being akin to the semi-parasitic ice that makes up 42% of the Summoner's body. Has been modified slightly to be able to perform duties that usually require the specialized Summoner's Robes and is believed to be both semi-sentient and at least somewhat capable of self-repair and changing appearence.

Penance(Mask): Mask made of solid True Ice that is granted to the personal agents of the Frostguard Princess. This specific Mask features several very minor enchantments focused around preserving mana consumption and allows the wearer to breath underwater or in toxic environments for brief periods. Otherwise unremarkable beyond it's apparent ability to move off the Summoner's face at apparent will.

Living Ice: While not an actual item, the semi-parasitic Ice that makes up a large portions of the Summoner Sasha Kentanus' body is both notable and unique. Samples provided due to the graciousness of the Summoner are remarkably different when compared to True Ice or rare samples of Black Ice, being both much more light and flexible but also much easier to break. Tests with the Summoner, at the request of Princess Lissandra, also show that the Ice seems to transmit pain signals and other usually biological-speicfic phenomena when still attached to Sasha Kentanus.

Marks of Memory/Summoning: Viewed after Summoner Sasha Kentanus was initially interned after suffering serious wounds when trying to fight a small band of bandits on her own; on inspection of the location she was teleported in from it was seen that the band had been wiped out. Largely identified as originally being a ritualistic network of tattoos that originates in Ionia. Bears a striking resemblance to a smaller network of such tattoos on the Champion Ahri's back, speculated to be a symbol of family bonds. Additions to the network that differentiate from Ahri's are magically infused and are believed to be disguised high-level Instant Summoning runes that are likely tied to Princess Lissandra.

Ok there we go. All of Sasha's shit for now unless I want to add that booze she carries around on occasion.

Oh yeah, I forgot about Synar's Journal of Veritama.

Synar's Veritama Journal
Description: A leatherbound tome full of blank, smooth white paper. Contained upon the cover is a Glyph. This glyph prevents anyone from opening the tome without a corresponding glyph, similar to how a lock and key function. It is notable any magic used to attempt to destroy the tome is absorbed from within. On the cover seems to be a gem that powers the glyph inscribed upon the cover, maintaining it's ability to "lock" the tome shut. The Tome is approximately 22 cm x 13 cm x 3 cm in size. Alongside it's inability to be destroyed by magical means, any attempted to burn, tear, or destroy the book by any non-magical means also ends in futility. Fires are absorbed, water evaporates, and tears are repaired as they're made. Acids thrown upon the book are ineffective as well.

Synar maintains tight possession of this tome, and is the only known person to be able to open this book. Synar states that he was the person who did the binding of the pages, and made the leather himself, it's possible complex spells are woven into the cover or pages, preventing it's destruction. Synar will often allow others to see what's written upon the pages.

Upon the pages are more glyphs and symbols, all with notes of what they represent beside them. Synar rarely writes anything into the book itself, instead using scraps of paper for scratch work. Only upon a new symbol that is not already contained within the journal is written inside it, but even that is a rare occurence as Synar often goes through many versions of a symbol, often never finding a satisfying version to record, and discards any that he deems unfit to place in his journal.

Synar only imparts that the symbols deal with magic, very potent magic, and doesn't expand further than that. Considering that reports have him using some of the symbols found within the tome to create a spell of similar power to Forbidden Rune Spells before his disappearance on Nyroth, the Institute allows Synar full possession of the book, respecting the potential that if these symbols are as potent or more potent than Runes, they can be very dangerous.

Winter's Claw for Life.
Rinsu'o has had a total of three kali sticks in his possession at various times. The two he currently wields are made of rattan, with an intricate grip pattern carved into each end. This matched pair has been a family heirloom for years, and are his weapons of choice. After events on Argyre several years ago where he nearly lost them, he has enchanted them to react to a wind spell he can cast, causing them to become enveloped in a windstorm which blows them to the location where he initially cast the spell. During his studies, he has begun looking into a teleport spell which may work similarly, rather than the current spell which more closely resembles a ghost spell.

The third stick is all that remains of a magically-inclined pair that was also a family heirloom. His twin sister preferred to wield that pair, however in the same event where he nearly lost his own pair, one of hers was either lost or destroyed - the remaining stick, which he wielded when he first came to Valoran, is attuned to damaging spells. On his first visit home he exchanged sticks, as he felt he had completed his promise to return to his family. He has no intention of returning to Argyre again.
