A young acolyte bows as you approach. "Greetings, Summoner. I confess your face is yet unfamiliar to me. May I ask your name?"
He opens the register book and wets a quill. Will you sign?

Kuronan Estimare, Psionic Psion of House Estimare
OOC Foreword

"Greetings to you, Fellow Summoners! My name is Kuronan Estimare, Psion of House Estimare, Zaunite Branch. Before you go rushing off to declare your allegiance or legal representation to any organization or nation that exists from the Studious Ionians, to the Mysterious Icathians to the..." Kuronan double checks a speech he prepared. "Who edited my speech to include Demacia in it?!" Kuronan closed his eyes and clears his throat with two consecutive coughs. "Sorry, we all have our personal biases, and that's okay, just be sure you double-check who you swear an oath to."

"First and foremost, a lot of you may have a romanticized impression of how it works based on the importance of Summoners of the rank of Diamond or Above. In reality, there is rarely enough people present to fill a room at any given oath and Faction Leaders or Champions in general are very rarely present. The minimum of any Oath however, requires one Institute Consultant and one Legal Representative of the faction. Said Legal Representative must answer any and all questions you have regarding the faction before your Oath is sworn and has a duty to give you any warnings IE: Ionian Representatives must remind Noxian and Zaunite summoners that Ionians in general have a very divided view on Noxians and Zaunites and that they may be subject to discrimination. Sometimes the ritual involves invoking your oath upon an item such as a Manifesto, Constitution or Enchanted Object. Please be respectful and responsible as these objects are likely rare and valuable to the given faction."

"Second, unless you have a ten second speech prepared, most of the Oath is just saying 'I do.' and keeping in any backhanded comments. Yes, we've all had those fun times where we trash talk one-another during matches, but keep in mind the Summoner's Code is meant to reflect individuals who show extreme malice or those who actively attempt to sabotage the Fields of Justice. While you are encouraged to be as professional and courteous as possible, a little jab every once in a while can be fun. Just make sure you keep it in moderation, lest you be asked to stand before the Tribunal."

"Third, you are of course requested to represent whatever Faction you are asked to represent in the most mature and respectful way possible. Yes, every culture has hooligans, bandits, and other undesirables. Such things should not be reflected in you however, you must strive to represent the best of your Faction whenever possible. Keep in mind however, that this isn't always possible. We're only human and we can't always keep a perfect composure. Just try to cut loose during your off-duty hours."

"Fourth, take your time when deciding to represent any given Faction. I'm sure no one wants a repeat of the Lines in the Sand, where many Summoners swore oaths and then proceeded to, for one reason or another, not partake in the Fields of Justice. I admit, my reasons for doing so were quite personal, but none the less I will not pretend I didn't shirk my duty. When you swear allegiance to a Faction for any given dispute, you are expected to represent them at least some of the time. Be responsible when choosing whom you wish to represent as, once you declare an Oath, it is permanent until the end of the dispute. Please be sure to organize some time in your schedule when possible to represent your faction after you have sworn your allegiance."

"Fifth, remember that above all, we at the Institute of War wish to prevent the horrors of the Rune Wars from being repeated. We have only one world in which to live, and we must do everything within our power to keep in habitable for future generations. While major conflicts like The Battle of Shurima do happen, it is our duty to prevent escalation of that level when possible. The Fields of Justice were established in the hopes of preventing another war that could destroy our world, and we must uphold that duty above all else. If Rune Magic is being utilized, we must report it to the Institute. It is our duty and burden to settle disputes before the escalation to War."

"Keep in mind there may be revisions if someone starts a Public Fiasco. Thank you for your time, and good luck on the Fields of Justice."
